"Jonas"

This is a fella called Jonas.
He is an Armish farmer who is usually seen in the pages of my sketch books with his wifey Marj.
He took a trip down south recently and looky, he got all western.

A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to go to the 2006 AGIdeas conference at the arts centre here in Melbourne. I was very excited at the prospect of seeing people like Brad Holland, Ralph Eggleston from Pixar and Nick Pill from Rising Sun Pictures, speak at the conference.
I got so excited that I spent the three days leading up to the conference making some hand crafted business cards to hand to these guest speakers. During the conference I was unable to find any of the guest speakers during the lunch breaks and so I didn't get a chance to hand out these hand painted cards I worked so hard on. So I thought I'd put one or two of them up on the blog, just so that some one else could see them. Enjoy!

Ever had one of those days where a client is smurfing you up the wall? To the point you'd like to kill em?
But then you'd have all of those icky laws to deal with. These days who has time for prison anyway?

Man you can do anything to those guys!

Anyhow. This was how i vented yesterday.

The Adventures of Horse and Fly

This chap's name is Fly. He is the imaginary friend to a character i'm doing a comic about whose name is Horse. I'm just finishing the page he makes his big debut on so i thought you may want a gander at the little guy! He's a little lizard, a little fly and a little pirate. Yep, all that's good in the world. The book will be penned by the ever erratic Earl Leonard (click here to check out his most excellent band the Rye Cathers or his other equally awesome bluesy outfit The Red Cents here). How was that for a shameless plug?!

I'd like to get the first story done before i die(hopefully no time soon) and seeing as it's only a 12 page story that should be possible.

Anyhow.
